The Fishing Pole is a tool in Harvest Moon 64.
To go fishing, the player should speak to Greg the fisherman near his tent and he will offer the fishing pole. It is available as early as the first day in the game. Once the player has the pole, they can fish as much as they like.
There are three spots the player can go fishing: the River, Goddess Pond, or outside the fisherman's tent. To fish, just equip the fishing rod and press B to cast the line, and release the button when the lure starts bobbing to catch the hooked fish. There are three sizes of fish: small, medium, and large. If the player is looking for a perfect ending, the fishing pole must be used a certain number of times throughout the game.
The fishing pole is needed to catch a power berry from the ocean off the dock.
