The Harvest King is an honorary title in Harvest Moon 64. The King is chosen every year at the Harvest Festival on the 12th of Fall. The Harvest King plays an active role in the following year's Planting[1] and Spirit Festivals[2] after winning the title. The King will also dance with the bachelorette voted to be the Goddess at next year's Flower Festival; though, if the player is the King, they can choose to opt out to choose a different bachelorette to dance with.

Elli presents the player with a piece of cake at the festival, and if a coin is inside, they become the Harvest King.[3] If the player wants to become the King, they should not save the game the night before the festival and must keep replaying Days 11 and 12 until they win (even replaying from Fall 10 would be an extra safe bet).
At the beginning of the game, the first Harvest King is always the Degas, the Potion Shop Dealer.
