Ponta (ぽんた Ponta?) is a character in Harvest Moon: Hero of Leaf Valley.
He is unseen to almost everyone in Leaf Valley. This tanuki is always lonely and eager to talk. Ponta came here to find new fishing spots, so his favorite meals are almost any type of food made from fish. If you give him a fish that you've caught, he's likely to give you a recipe. He can also give you fish prints out from the fishes that you gave him. Like the Harvest Sprites, his birthday, height, and weight are unknown in this game.
Ponta can also help unlock two additional fishing spots. Giving him 10 fish to make fish prints will unlock the fishing area behind the Harvest Goddess Spring. Giving him 20 fish to make fish prints will unlock the Underground Lake within the mines.
