Main Character using one of three windmills.
Windmills are used in Harvest Moon DS: Grand Bazaar to make essential items used in recipes or sold at the weekly Bazaar. The player can blow into the DS's microphone when standing in front of a windmill to make the blades spin faster, improving production time for the rest of that day. Weather will also effect the speed of the windmills, with rainy and stormy days increasing windmill speed.
There are three windmills in Grand Bazaar. The first is in the lower left corner of the farm, the second is by the hotel and Angelo's house underneath the Bazaar entrance, and the third is to the left of the waterfall and Lloyd's house.
The first windmill is used to ferment items such as milk to make cheese, and grapes to make wine. The windmill can make canned tea and pickles to consume, sell, or give as gifts. This windmill is unlocked on the first sunny day after Spring 22, year 1. At the start, there are nine recipes which are not unlocked.

The third and last windmill is to the left of the waterfall and removes seeds from crops and packs them into a seed bag to reuse. Crops that don't regrow would essentially be a waste of time to turn back into seeds; on the other hand, it would be wise with crops that do regrow to take them and turn them all back into seeds before the end of a season to be able to re-grow them when its season comes around again. Even buying a single pile of fodder for cows and sheep can be turned into a field full of grass over time.
With this windmill, nuts can be peeled and packed into a can, or ground up to flour and other cooking basics.
