Hey guys, quick question; you can't save the game in the middle of the day or anything in this one, right? I've looked extensively for a save option in the menus and such, but there seems to be no mention of saving aside from when I go to bed.

Nope :( Only when you go to sleep, like in Grand Bazaar (If you've played it)

Aw, I feel so vulnerable without being able to save every few minutes, haha. Thanks for confirming.

It's a drag, but no, you can't save in the middle of the day. :/ Which, I agree with.... makes a person feel vulnerable.

Yeah, it's especially annoying since the 3DS version of it constantly freezes.

Hi guys, so I feel like I'm going to be asking a lot of questions for this game, so I'm just going to re-use this board instead of making a new one each time.

Question: What soup did you guys make for the second cooking festival, and how did you acquire the ingredients? The majority of soups seem to require onions, and I don't know how to get any. I'm two days away from the festival, I can't grow anything new.

Any tips/suggestions, anyone?

I haven't even gotten to my first Cooking Festival yet! I'm only on day 2 or 3. I'd like to do some research on the game before I get too carried away, but we can all hopefully help each other! There's so many cooking festivals.. and I hate to cook in Harvest Moon. *groan*

Lol same here! It took me so long to get started the first few days, it's a lot of new stuff to go through. c; I've been reading the pages on fogu.com, it's the most helpful guide I can find right now.

And yeah, there's a lot of pressure to cook and cook well, and the item degradation process makes it real hard to preserve things long enough to cook with. :(

Agh, I just accidentally skipped a day. >: ( I heard somewhere that all ingredients are provided by your mayor for the first few cooking festivals. I wanted to skip ahead to the day to find out but saved when I went to bed, so I skipped a day, lol.

Apparently it's a team effort and some villagers will also enter their dishes? o_o That makes it a bit easier! Yay for teamwork.

And befriending them might make their dishes better, according to fogu, which is even better. That makes me feel a bit better, it won't all be riding on me. Have either of you participated yet?

Yep, I've been in two -- won the first, lost the second. And yes, befriending the villagers that participate in the festivals will make the dishes they enter better as well, so focus on that for now, since all the ingredients are going to be supplied to you by Ina in the first couple festivals anyway. c:

I lost the first one. :( Wish I would have done the request for Reina first, I think she teaches you a recipe for salad that would have been more expensive then the one I entered, but that's alright. It's a learning process. :)
