|This article is about Kate, a character from A Wonderful Life. You may be looking for Kate from Harvest Moon GBC3 or for Kate, as she appears in Harvest Moon DS.|
Kate is one of the child characters in Forget-Me-Not Valley, the other being Hugh. She is the young daughter of Grant and Samantha. She used to live in the city, so she finds the valley "boring," and will often complain that there's nothing to do. Her mother wants Kate to be lady like, but Kate is a tomboy who has no desire to be more feminine as a child. As a teenger, however, she's much more tame and seems to have grown up to be a bit more lady like.
She plays often with Hugh, and the two develop a very close bond over time. She loves to be outside, and will grow up as the chapters go by. If you marry Nami, your son will develop feelings for Kate when he grows into a teenager. It's never revealed if your child and Kate end up together near the end of the game, but Hugh also has feelings for Kate, as the two were childhood friends.
In the Special Edition, she will give you the "Winter HM" record if you befriend her.
Like with most people in Forget-Me-Not Valley, Kate ages. She will turn from a young girl into a young woman during the game.
Kate arrives in the valley during the second chapter. For the duration of the second chapter, her appearance will stay the same, and no changes can be seen.
Along with Hugh, Kate will enter her teenage years around the same time that your son will. Instead of wearing her blue dress, she now wears a very fasionable purple skirt, white blouse, and a tie. Instead of having her hair in pigtails, she wears her hair long with a bow in her hair. She hasn't hit her growth spurt, however, and still has growing to do before the game ends.
In the final chapters of the game, Kate will be fully grown. Nothing about her appearance changes from her teenage attire, except for that she's now taller.
Kate goes into her teenage years by the time Hugh is a young adult, showing she is slightly younger than Hugh.
