Ostriches are an animal in Harvest Moon: Animal Parade.
Although ostriches are a type of bird, they will live in the player's barn rather than the coop. Ostriches are one of the last animals to unlock, as the largest barn upgrade is necessary before appearing for sale at Horn Ranch.
They are the second fastest animals to ride (aside from horses).
Care[]
All ostriches need to eat fodder daily, but an adult can be let outside to graze on grass instead. A healthy ostrich can lay an egg once every 7 days, only if it's inside the barn. The quality of the ostrich egg will depend on the ostrich's affection with you and its health.
To raise its affection, an Ostrich may be brushed and pet daily. Letting animals outside to graze during sunny weather also increases affection. It takes 14 days for the ostrich egg to hatch and another 15 days for a chick to mature into an adult. Unlike all other barn animals, ostriches are only available in one color.
